A GREEN DAY AT CLARA !!

The whole of Clara NS was awash with green on Friday 15th March as the children and staff alike dressed up for the annual St. Patrick's Day festival.

The poor staff thought that the entire school was sick such was the "greenery" of the children's faces as they made their way across the school yard but alas it was just the face paint and the shamrocks. A morning of mammies and daddies up to their eyes in green dye and paint!! Well done parents!!

Around the school yard went the children dressed in all their finery and leading the way were the very noisy, instrument-holding infants. They led the way just as St. Patrick led the snakes out of Ireland. Well done boys and girls!!

The teachers of the school worked ever so hard preparing the children for the celebration of their patron saint's day. They learned all about St. Patrick, created wonderful artrwork and the teachers also made them realise that being Irish on St. Patrick's day is something they should all be so proud of.

Special Assembly / Prayer Service

A beautiful tribute was paid to our national Saint in the library by the staff and pupils of Clara. The children told stories about St. Patrick, showed pictures of St. Patrick and sang lovely songs about St. Patrick. A big thank you to all the staff for preparing the children so well for this prayer servive.

"St Patrick was a gentleman, he came from dacent people

Built a church in Dublin town and on it put a steeple."

The Final Word from St. Patrick

What did St. Patrick say as he drove the snakes out of Ireland?

"Are yis alright in the back there lads!!"

Happy St. Patrick's Day 2013 from all at St. Patrick's NS, Clara
