CHRISTMAS MASS AND CAROL SERVICE DECEMBER 2015

On Wednesday 16th December 2015, the boys and girls took part in a very special christmas mass celebrated by Father Nolan.

The whole community came out in force and what a wonderful, festive mass it was.

The church was decorated in such a way that it created a very special christmas atmosphere with candles adorning each window signifying the light of christ.

CHRISTMAS CAROLS

The boys and girls of the school were diligently prepared by Mrs Marina Mohan, our local music teacher and what a brilliant job she did! There was traditional Irish music accompanied by wonderful singing.

The boys and girls also played an important role in the celebration of the mass along with Fr. Nolan.

THE TRUE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS

It really was no surprise that this mass was celebrated with the true spirit of christmas ringing around the church. Spending time with one's family, thinking of others at this time of year especially those who have noone or are lonely and most inportantly the gift of "giving rather than receiving," whether that be giving gifts or giving your time time to those most in need of it.

THANK YOU

At the end of the mass Damien Treanor, Chairperson of the Board of Management, spoke to the assembled congregation and commended all who made the night a huge success.

The staff of the school were thanked for their unending hard work in making sure the children are happy and well prepared for the mass, Marina Mohan was thanked for her hard work in preparing the childrens' music, Fr. Nolan was thanked for celebrating the mass, Mary Brady was thanked for her decorating of the church, the community was thanked for continuing to support the school and the children were thanked for their wonderful singing and instrument playing.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The final blessing was carried out by Fr. Nolan and Oran Maguire, 6th class pupil, wished everyone a safe and happy christmas and a happy new year! Go Raibh Maith Agat!

SANTA'S VISIT TO THE SCHOOL

On Friday 18th December 2015, a very special visitor came to the school. It was none other than the big man himself, Santa Claus!

He arrived in a very special sleigh and goodness me did he get a fabulous welcome from the staff and the boys and girls!

SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN

After settling himself on his now famous Santa chair in the library, Santa spoke to the boys and girls about the true meaning of christmas and it didn't involve presents!

He told the children to be good to everyone, be kind to your friends and neighbours and most of all think of others apart from themselves. Think of those boys and girls who don't get any presents or any christmas dinner on christmas day.

He was very impressed with the chidrens' manners and excellent behaviour which he said was very important for being good for chrsitmas.
