2017 Local Businessman Steps Back In Time

2017 Businessman of the Year Visits his Old School

Local businessman and entrepreneur, Martin McVicar, revisited his old National School, St. Patrick's NS, Clara, 40 years after he enrolled as a junior infant. Martin has excelled in business over the years with his worldwide company Combilift and he was here to offer words of support and encouragement for the children in 4th, 5th and 6th class as they embarked on the Junior Entrepreneur Programme which encourages skills and develops that spark which can lead to success in the future in the business sector.

Martin focused his attention on teamwork and having a real belief in something if the children wanted to succeed in the business world, something which he commended the children on.

SANTA 2016!!

The big man in the red suit made a guest appearance the week of the christmas holidays to see if the pupils and teachers had all been good!

And you know what, they all were! Santa said he was very impressed at the level of hard work going on in the school, the manners and politeness shown to him on his visit and he was blown away with the level of talent on show as the boys and girls sang a few christmas numbers to send him on his very, merry way!

The children all received a lovely pressie from Santa and he said he would return again next year!

He did tell everyone to go to bed early on christmas eve, leave out a carrot for Rudolph and a glass of milk for him! All good!!!
